When temple workers greet us with:
"Our regulars are back!"
and say goodbye with:
"It was nice to see you again"
You know you're doing something right.

The Gaming Queen
Confession:
I am really competitive.
Really.
For Christmas, my dad recieved a game called Blockus. It's a game of shapes and patterns and strategy.
Pretty fun.
Asia loves it. Actually, Asia just loves games.
Observation:
Asia is really competitive.
Really.
She used to cheat and set up Duck Duck Bruce in the correct card order so every time it was her turn she would win! And she plays cards and Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride and Scum and always asks people to play games with her. When friends walk in the door she asks them to play a board game. When my sister or I am sad she prays for us....then asks us to play a board game with her to cheer up.
But...sometimes it's not very cheering.
Because she wins.
She always wins.
And I just can't handle it!
I know, I know; I am the older one and should be a good sport and be able to let my sister have the excitement and pride of beating me in a board game. But she's eight years old! And I actually TRY.
I have played Blockus with her about 10 times this week.
She's won almost every time.
She's smart.
I just finished a game of Blockus with her...
She won.
This just won't do.

A Holly Jolly...Birthday(s)!
Yes. I did just name this post A Holly Jolly Birthday(s). And no. It doesn't make any sense.
But here's why:
It's Christmas.
And there are two (meaning plural and not singular) birthdays I wish to tribute today(well, yesterday; since their birthday is December 12)!
I am on a roll with bad writing here.
Firstly: My dear friend Christian Sagers.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! He is one of the best boys I have ever met. Well..he's almost a man now! 18 years old! (sorry for the outdated picture). I hope he had a great birthday because he deserves it.
Secondly: (drumroll.......)
Chairman Of The Board
Ol' Blue Eyes
The Voice
Swoonatra?
You guessed it:
Frank.
Frank Sinatra.
Oo baby baby!
I love Frank. As you can tell. So he deserved a tribute today as well.
Here's some of my favorites of his:
The Best Is Yet To Come
Moonlight Serenade
These Foolish Things
How Little It Matters (How Little We Know)
The Lady Is A Tramp
Here Goes
You Make Me Feel So Young
Autumn In New York
Fly Me To The Moon
Come Fly With Me
I Get A Kick Out Of You
My Funny Valentine
And there are tons more...but I could waste all day listing his songs. So I won't.
Too bad he was a die hard smoker and was in the Mafia.....
Eh...Oh well. His voice is divine.
So, Happy Birthday to two of my favorite men out there!

Shhh!
So....
I have two secrets.
But you can't tell ANYONE.
First, I am winning the Christmas Tree game.
Explanation: Devin and I have pictures of us when we were little kids as ornaments, and each year we have a battle to hide the others ornament and put ours in the VERY FRONT OF THE TREE WHERE EVERYONE CAN SEE. I think Devin has forgotten our challenge--he hasn't even noticed I am winning! Woot!
Aren't I adorable?
Second-
I AM DYING OF EXCITEMENT.
So...I went to this fabulous store called Dear Lizzie's yesterday. And...I bought this mouth-dropping flowy beautiful dress for Preference. Well...my mom bought it. And it's beautiful and I just want to put it on and dance and sing and laugh with pearls and curls and good smelly stuff. But, there's a catch. It's for Christmas. So I have to WAIT.
I'm not very good at waiting.
And I'm supposed to suppress the memory and forget all about it.
BUT I CAN'T.
I'm REALLY REALLY REALLY excited.
So I had to vent somehow.
Just....
Don't tell anyone. Alright?

The Birth of a Blogger
My very first blog post.
The new(semi-old--I'm late on the uptake) fad that's sweeping the nation!
This could possibly be the most difficult entry. The first. What to talk about?
I suppose with my thoughts, right? My first ten thoughts as an official blogger...
1. I was sorely tempted to name this entry "The Birth of Frogger" or "Clogger". But as I don't clog and haven't played Frogger for years, I decided it wasn't relevent.
2. Oh the joy of using other peoples ideas! Thank you Anna Lewis. I AM BLOGGING.
3. Perhaps it would be a good idea to introduce myself...
4. But who am I introducing myself to?
5. Ah well. It's worth a try.
6. I am Shelby Alyse Frampton. A lover.
7. Lover of daisies, school, friends, jazz, the fall!, upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas, crayons, laughter, rain, pumpkin spice candles, singing happy tunes, and family.
8. I am 18 years old. A recent happening that has made me feel CRAZY old.
9. I hope I am always a child at heart.
10. I am pretty sure I will be.
I am positively proud of that perfect post. (Nice alliteration eh?) It's not really much. But, it's a start. Hopefully I can use this to be more grateful for my life. I can express my concerns and brilliant ideas and wonders and happinesses and stories. This will hold memories. And memories are special. So, I'm off on a new journey.
And as I begin,
I end.
