Deployment

I got deployed last week to Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland. Basically, I spent my time turning little girls into princess' and pixie-dusting their heads. It sounds glamorous but I missed Hollywood Studios a lot.

Actually....just Harrison Ford.... :)

For The Love...

I love Valentines Day. I never have boyfriends or anything special, I just love it because everyone is silly and fun and expressing their love for each other. I love love. Everyone does. So why not celebrate it? Last week I realized I probably wasn't going to do much for Valentines day because of work and I live with five girls, etc. So I bought myself some delicious dark Dove chocolates. Mm. My favorite thing about these chocolates are the cheesy sayings I get to read every time I eat one. Like "Share a secret", "Exercise your heart", "Remember your first crush", or, as it says above, "Do something spontaneous". I don't necessarily think Dove Inc. has the greatest advice. Like "The best love in life is chocolate". Talk about advertisement. But, when I ripped open my package of chocolates I decided that the first saying I read, I would do.

Do something spontaneous.

That has been my goal this week. The night I opened that chocolate I came home from work, threw a swimsuit in a bag, hopped on a bus and went to the Contemporary Resort and hot-tubbed with a babish 23 year-old. Valentines night I basically had a girls night and hopped on another bus and watched The Vow. What a beautiful story. Then yesterday I got lost at The Swan and Dolphin resort, watched two handsome men play the guitar, went on a ferry boat across a lake with fireworks above me, walked along a beach bare-footed, ate an ice cream cone with jazz playing in the background standing on a pavilion over-looking a lake. It was stunning. Romantic. And....I'd say pretty spontaneous. I need to have this goal more often... :)

The Warm Up

I opened my door to go to work today...and:

Wah-lah! I had a valentine. A major huge valentine.

In honor of The Bachelor tonight, my roommates and I held a rose ceremony. Looks like they are all staying for next week. The question is, who's the secret admirer? Well. Let's just say dating in Florida is different than dating in Idaho. Or Utah. I've never met so many 26 year old men. And I've never met men who were so....insistent. Or persistent. I didn't except a valentine a day early. I didn't expect a valentine at all for that matter. But let's just say...I hope today wasn't a warm up.

Morocco

Basically, when working 40 hours a week you live for your off days. And off days here are party days. So they aren't really off days because you never rest! Sadly, my roommates and I don't usually have the same off days. So this Wednesday when we all did we had to make it an adventure.

We got all dolled up...

Walked the walk...

Showed up in Morocco...

Experienced some fine dining...

Watched some belly dancers and awesome Moroccan mandolin players (even though you can't see them)...

Tried mussels for the first time and stuffed our faces...

Then rode the bus home :)

Maybe next week we will go to Germany.

Oddities

My roommate is an avid blogger. Avid. And...she got on my case for not blogging very much. I just feel like since I went to college it zapped my creativity. Horrible, really. Anywho, here's an update.

Since living in Florida:

- I love The Young Victoria. I think I've watched it 5 times. When I think to myself, I sometimes use a British accent or talk as if I lived in 1837.

- Every day I eat blueberries and whipped cream. Whipped cream is probably the best treat with the least amount of calories.

- I sleep too much. I know teenagers are supposed to get a lot of sleep. But, I'm rapidly approaching 20 and starting to wonder if I have some sort of sleep disorder. I just sleep. A lot. Is there a point where that's not good? What if I get married and have a baby and sleep through it's crying! AH. Worst nightmare.

- I can't get enough of Rubber Snakes. No matter how many times I fling those things around poles, my arms, or co-workers, I just don't get tired of it.

- Pinterest.

- I'm tired of Suspicions. I found out the other day all my co-workers were wondering if I was a polygamist. When my manager heard I was from Utah he said "The Land of Many Wives". Man. People have such a misconception.

- I don't get enough food. I mean, it hasn't been forty days and forty nights yet...but almost.

- The humidity is doing wonders to my lips and I just wish I could kiss someone with them.

-Rain is warm. Who knew?

-Reading is a joy. I just finished The Count of Monte Cristo and am now reading Little Women. Someday when I am completely drained of Disney, I want to work at a bookstore. They smell good.

-I write letters everyday. I have about 7 pen pals. I need some stationary. If you want to join the ranks, I'd LOVE it. Just let me know. Everyone needs a pen pal.

-I'm trying to learn as much as I can about the presidential elections. I get to vote this year! Crazy.

I miss you all. Be happy. Disneyworld is great, but they lie. It's not the happiest place on earth. The happiest place on earth is wherever you make it!

Love,

Shelby
