Beggar Woman at St. Mark's

A personal favorite of mine. The reference I used for this is a photo I took while in Venice at St. Mark's Square. The foundation of Venice is made out of wood and over the years it has warped because of the water leaving the tiling in St. Mark's crooked and uneven. Every day the square floods through the tiles. This beggar woman sitting on the very edge of the flooding caught my eye and I had to paint it!

I love the stories behind the paintings and your style. What kind of studying have you done?
I did have a question. I have a blog about service and so forth, would you be opposed to having this in one of my posts with a link to your site? I don't really know how the protocol goes, if that's acceptable or not, so I won't be upset whatever the answer is.
And, the admiration of your work is genuine.

Thank you! I truly appreciate the support. I honestly haven't done any real study of art. I took a drawing class when I was about 13 and a half credit course in high school--but I am mostly a self-taught painter. I'd be honored if you used my photo in a post. You can link it here as well as my facebook page that has all my work:

:) Thanks for your compliments
